Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
ERP system experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Proficiency in bank reconciliations
Expertise in Enter Invoices
Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Great Plains Accounting
Proven knowledge of billing
General familiarity with Excel Formulas
Cash reconciliations experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in cash reconciliations
Cash applications experience desired
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
