Description Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The New Berlin, Wisconsin based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis. They provide an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

　　Major responsibilities

　　Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

　　Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

　　Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

　　Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

　　Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management

　　Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

　　Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

　　Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

　　Deep understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR)

　　Experience with Check Runs

　　Demonstrated knowledge of year end closings

　　Account reconciliation experience preferred

　　Adeptness in month end closings

　　General familiarity with general ledger

　　Accounts Payable (AP) experience

　　Accounting Functions experience desired

　　Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

　　ERP system experience

　　Strong attention to detail

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Self-starter and strong ethical standards

　　Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

　　Competent with spreadsheets and databases
