Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Washington, DC.Key Tasks: Staff Accountant will review to post daily cash transaction entries ensuring accuracy and proper supporting source documents are filed appropriately Create deposits for cash entries to match bank statements Prepare daily cash report for finance management cash flow decisions Review submission of daily cash flow spreadsheet and coordinate with billing representatives, accounting clerk, grants, and contracts team to ensure cash is posted to the correct billing category or customer account Prepare monthly cashflow report and submit analytical supporting documents Reconcile Friends of Maria Scholarship Fund monthly and as needed Review AR aging reports on a monthly basis to ensure applications are completed and assist grants team with follow ups on payment status where necessary As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly rent invoices/schedules as needed Reconcile donations with development data Assist with preparation and pulling various audit documentation requests
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required with minimum of ten (2) years of related experience in a non-profit healthcare, contract/grant management setting Thorough hands-on working knowledge and demonstrated skills in matters related to accounting and financial policies, procedures, and reporting Requires experience in highly computerized environment, hands on knowledge in accounting software (MS Dynamics GP and Sage Intacct preferred) Critical, analytical, and creative thinking to identify and solve problems; Requires experience with analyzing complex contract and grants accounts Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Strong problem solving and technical accounting skills Ability to manage multiple tasks with extreme attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
