POSITION: Stable/Stall Crew- LA Area Equestrian Center
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Operation Manager

Summary
The Equestrian Center is a unique 75-acre equestrian venue located in the heart of Griffith Park which serves both the public, equine boarders, and a variety of equestrian/special events.
Maintenance workers performs duties for the safety, cleanliness and maintenance of the City of Los Angeles equestrian and special events venue.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the day to day cleaning and maintenance of the barns including stalls, pens and arenas, general barn areas.
Deliver supplies as directed including shavings, hay, feed etc.
Work hand in hand with barn manager to ensure the safety of all animals on site.
Customer facing position that requires the ability to effectively communicate with others.
Other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. Qualifications would include experience in construction, maintenance and/ or repair of agricultural properties and related facilities and caring for horses.
Ability to use English effectively to communicate in person, over the radio or telephone.
Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
Must possess ability to work in all weather conditions, strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy work in confined spaces.
Ability to read printed materials.
Requires frequent walking, pushing wheelbarrow both empty and full, ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work and inspect work areas.
Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 75 lbs. or more with the use of proper equipment.
Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's Degree in a related field i.e., equine studies, agriculture or similar discipline or 3-5 years of similar experience
Valid driver's license, CDL preferred.
Must be dependable and reliable.
