OVERVIEW
The Sr. Supply Planner provides analytics, support, and inputs to the demand and supply plan in support of the Sales & Operations Planning process. They facilitate root cause analysis of KPIs and lead action items to drive continuous improvement of the process. As part of our S&OP implementation, the Planner will be a versatile key player to ensure business continuity while we integrate and implement tools, systems, and processes. With directions from the corresponding Category Planning Manager, they will cover mission critical duties for mid/long-term supply planning. They will also support the S&OP process by working with Demand Planning for updates on sales trends analysis and a drill-down review of sales gaps in order to identify requirements for action.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive service excellence by making enhanced decisions in inventory and cost measures for his/her product portfolio.
Utilize SAP/Excel along with other systems to analyze data, production performance, and conduct capacity analysis.
Maximize profitability by making agile decisions collaborating cross functionally to optimize CTO.
Strategically manage the creation of a 13-week production plan and a rolling 18-month supply plan.
Lead root-cause analysis for performance gaps addressing trade-offs and elevate decision-making as needed.
Analyze short and long term risks and impact to the business providing insights to the monthly melt plan.
Collaborate with Sales, Demand, and NPD on long-term supply plans and new product development.
Monitor production plan attainment to address gaps and tradeoffs with Operations.
Optimize inventory positioning when planning for business seasonality while minimizing inventory obsolescence.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement as well as conceive and execute resulting projects.
Collaborate with Demand Planning in the development of a mid/long term “game plan” for area of responsibility.
Build spreadsheet tools to gather demand planning data, conduct production capacity analysis.
Support development of S&OP presentations monthly owning action items resulting from process.
Backup members of the Planning Team including Category Planning Manager-level duties on an ad-hoc basis.
Perform other duties as required.
WORK EXPERIENCES
4-7 years’ experience in Supply Chain – Transportation, Logistics, Distribution, Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehousing and or Customer Service.
Must have strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Hands-on experience with ERP/ Planning systems. Proficiency with MS Office a must.
Experience with SAP and/or Power BI a plus.
Experience with S&OP process a plus.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field from an accredited college/university is required.
APICS certification a plus.
