About Sr. Software Development Engineer, Enterprise Engineering

  Description

  The Enterprise Engineering organization is looking for an experienced software developer that can lead a team of developers in delivering high quality software solutions to support variety of customer use cases and are scalable to handle amazon volume.

  In this role, you'll drive innovation, write the front-end and back-end software that delivers a service for use by all Amazonians, leveraging the scalability and innovation with Amazon's AWS cloud services.

  This role will be involved in building a Zephyr - a unified software asset management solution that makes it easy for business leaders and software owners to manage their enterprise-managed 3P SaaS licenses and optimize their licensing cost. Through its integrated software catalog, analytics platform and access rule engine, Zephyr provides the ability to manage software access to 3P SaaS tools and set threshold to restrict software proliferation. Zephyr serves as the single source of truth for 3P SaaS usage data, providing business leaders with enhanced visualization and cost optimization insights into their org’s 3P SaaS spend and automated charge back for each Amazonian’s 3P SaaS spend to their respective cost center.

  Key job responsibilities

  Your responsibilities will include:

  Designing and building services that scale for millions of global users.

  Driving new innovation in the Amazon/AWS ecosystem.

  Work with and learn many different technologies every day including Java, Python, etc.

  Solving complex problems with elegant solutions by working across teams and organizations in Amazon.

  Expanding your own skills by constantly learning and experimenting with new tools and ideas to evolve your team's processes.

  Deeply own the full stack and entire life-cycle of our products, from the roadmap to the architecture to implementation and continuous iterative development.

  About the team

  The Enterprise Engineering organization is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with a strong background in cloud platforms development. We are using AWS products to evolve traditional enterprise tools and services or building new high-performance services – if you are passionate about Amazon and have experience building critical services at global scale, this is the team for you.

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Seattle, WA, USA

  Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

  Preferred Qualifications

  5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
