Description
Essential Duties
Assist in the identification, development, and evaluation of marketing strategy based on the knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
Stand up a robust contracts team, responsible for standard terms and robust contract reviews.
Work with Information Technology on automating the data required for robust contract reviews.
Work to convert customer base to the eventual UPM Digital Commerce platform. Partner with 3rd party digital commerce developer to ensure product enhances UPM brand.
Assess market potential of new and existing markets with regard for potential, profitability, and business fit.
Specify actions necessary for customer segments growth, maintenance, or exit.
Initiate customer campaigns, analyze their findings, and develop a strategy with Marketing.
Confer or consult with department heads to plan campaigns and growth strategy.
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
Discuss price schedules and discount rates with Marketing.
Direct and coordinate activities involving sales.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products with the Marketing department.
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Service “high mix-low volume” accounts for their specialty alloy needs.
Drive accretive margin through transactional relationships.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with at least seven years related experience, at least three years in a management position.
5 years of management experience in business development or sales function.
5 years experience working with an ERP or CRM tool.
Proven ability to work cross functionally with Sales and Operations.
