  Job Summary

  The Regional Director ensures the highest level of service, food quality, and variety in Catering & Events for the Puget Sound campus. The Regional Director oversees all campus managed spaces & delivery of services for the Microsoft population. As a member of the Extended Leadership Team, the Regional Director is a critical contributor in establishing Compass Group as both a trusted partner in delivering business results, as well as advocating Compass Group values and reputation as an employer of choice.

  The Regional Director of Catering & Events is directly responsible for managing & leading the Eventions (Director of Operations - Catering, Executive Chef - Catering & Director of Operations - Events), all of which oversee their respective departments and support all service functions of the Eventions business. In addition, the Regional Director is directly responsible to oversee the Catering leadership for the Executive Briefing Center (EBC). The Regional Director is ultimately accountable for all levels of management and associates who report to the business leaders.

  Essential Functions:

  Advocates company culture for the Eventions Department & EBC Catering; ultimately responsible for values-based leadership within the business, including transparency, accountability, and appreciation of all associates - fostering an environment focused on people, growth & inclusion.

  Collaborates with VP, client and internal stakeholders to promote an industry-leading vision for Eventions & EBC Catering in a corporate environment, ensuring department goals align to key initiatives.

  Develops and communicates business strategies to effectively achieve the defined vision & desired results; evaluates outcomes and adjusts approach to best meet business objectives.

  Holds leaders accountable for implementation of business strategies that align to the vision, effective process management, and adherence to Department and Company values.

  Defines & presents key metrics for measuring the success of the Department.

  Partners with stakeholders/business leaders to establish, execute, and present results related to quarterly account Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  Works with internal marketing team to maintain a relevant brand image for the Department; ensures that the brand is cohesive, engaging, and effective in relation to our client, customers, internal Compass team members, and external parties, including suppliers and applicants.

  Acts as a gatekeeper for all leadership positions in the Department, ensuring management level positions are filled with effective business leaders.

  Directly oversees both Catering and Event functions of the Eventions business and ensures that all functional areas effectively partner to deliver results.

  Brings forth innovations and initiatives to bolster the Eventions & EBC Catering programs, incorporating technology to continually advance the current state.

  Effective in change management within the Department, to include leading change, as well as ensuring business leaders are directing change effectively in their respective areas of the department.

  Manages planning, budget analysis & financial reporting.

  Effectively facilitates internal, external and client-facing meetings.

  Identifies critical issues & manages escalations from senior leadership and the client to ensure concerns are resolved to the satisfaction of the client and internal leadership.

  Works directly with other department leaders to achieve enterprise goals & initiatives and ensures the highest level of satisfaction for customers & clients.

  Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration (or similar field of study) from an accredited college

  Minimum 5 years as Director or Department Head in a similar environment, with financial accountability & working with multiple teams (i.e., Finance, Marketing, Projects, etc.).

  Demonstrated ability in leading large, multi-faceted teams required.

  Proficient in all aspects of client & vendor management & partnerships required.

  Expertise and ability to analyze client needs & requests, think strategically, possess business & time management skills, as well as the initiative & judgment to quickly evaluate issues, find alternatives & take appropriate courses of action.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Strong background in senior leadership roles with exposure to contract/budget management, customer service, people development, food services, negotiations, etc.

  Has a proven track record of growing a business and leading teams, along with strong financial acumen

  Has ability to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accurately

  Shows expert client relationship, influencing, listening, and communications (written and verbal) skills

  Champions the inclusion mindset, and is proactive, positive, professional, flexible, and resilient

  Demonstrates initiative, ownership, multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills

  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite
