  Amazon's Digital Acceleration (DA) team is looking for a senior technology leader to define, organize, and lead the vision and development of Software Quality Programs for Digital Acceleration and Amazon. Digital Acceleration serves many Amazon businesses including Prime, Alexa, Kindle, Amazon Video, Digital Music, Appstore, Audible (etc.) with a core service stack that is built for scale and robustness to be able to process hundreds of millions of transactions worldwide. The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance position in Amazon is a role reserved for the few outstanding technical leaders with exceptional accomplishments in building and leading a multi-team QA organization in developing test automation systems that can grow to meet the ever increasing demands of Amazon customers. If you feel excited by the challenge of setting the vision and roadmap for a team of senior test engineers, meeting the needs of Digital Acceleration while innovating in test systems for Amazon, this may be the next big career move for you.Key job responsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced and highly committed to pioneering new forms of test automation for functional, performance, regression, and feature testing, able to develop and drive a high-level test strategy across a large organization, experienced in hiring and developing software developers in test (SDET), quality assurance engineers (QAE), and QA Managers at all levels.In this leadership role, you will* Be an expert on testing, specifically on testing hosted, self-service, data driven distributed systems.* Work with business and development teams to understand product vision and direction* Be responsible for the development of QA vision, direction, and roadmap, creating buy-in across the organization* Be responsible for multiple QA engineering teams in multiple regions* Establish quality processes and policies as well as metrics and indicators for success and then develop, report, and continually improve quality performance metrics* Work closely with the Digital Content and Commerce System product teams to understand how all elements of the service stack work together to serve Amazon businesses, from content ingestion through commerce and purchase flows to royalties, content provider payments, and accounting integration.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Seattle, WA, USA- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.- 10+ years of professional experience in the development of automated software quality systems- 7+ years of experience managing software quality engineers- 5+ years of experience managing QA / Software Quality Managers- Strong people management skills with a proven track record in hiring, developing, and retaining high performing talent- Experience in developing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals- Experience with distributed computing, enterprise-wide systems, and Java based technologies- Strong project management skills, preferably with experience in an agile development environment and continuous integration- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience working backwards
