Our client is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to join the Portfolio and Project Management Group. As a Sr. Project Manager, you will be part of the supporting the team. The ideal candidate will have HEAVY Waterfall experience, the initiative to drive projects, and strong communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: 70-80/hr, DOE
What’s the Job?
Manages IT projects from start to finish. Projects may consist of one or a combination of implementation or customizations of commercial off-the-shelf insurance software applications; mobile/web technologies, system integrations; software upgrades, Intelligent Automation (RPA) and infrastructure (hardware).
• Manages at up to three (3) or more projects simultaneously, depending on project complexity, duration and lifecycle phase. Average duration of most projects is 6 – 8 months.
• Manages a project team of matrixed resources. Resolves challenges presented by resource and schedule availability in matrixed organizations (project team members, including the PM, are rarely 100% dedicated to a single project).
• Builds a project schedule in MS Project/Project Server that is effort-driven and auto-scheduled.
What’s Needed?
7+ years of current project management experience delivering IT projects with a minimum budget of $150K.
PMP credential in good standing or plans to obtain PMP within 12 months• Experience directly managing and forecasting project financials (reconciling invoices, timekeeping, etc.) • Has successfully delivered IT projects from start to finish with timelines less than 1 year.
SDLC experience specifically within Integrations
Needs to understand the integration layer piece and know how the different systems talk to each other.
COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf Products)
Needs to be a driver, have a sense of urgency.
Experience in situations where they lead people to an end.
Will be in a Matrix Environment where Developers, QAs, BAs are involved in other projects; must keep these people engaged and on track to deliver requirements despite their other project workloads.
MUST be delivering projects in Waterfall – ALL projects follow the Waterfall methodology.
Experience managing multiple projects concurrently (4-6 projects w/ in a 6-8 months’ timeframe)
Needs to show they can move projects forward, NOT administrative tasks
Need to facilitate things, involved in meetings, get deeply involved into the projects so they are successful
