Description
Amazon.co.jp is looking for a self-motivated and experienced product manager to join the Seller Services division. This person will dive very deep into data, analyze lifecycle of Amazon’s Selection, and draw actionable insights to expand the Selection that our customers want the most. The position is based in Tokyo, but will interact with global teams in Seattle, Europe, India and other regions.
This person plays a key role in driving the business. The person is making decisions for business, sales strategies, marketing strategies, and working closely with a team consisting of Account Managers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers, and Data Scientists.
You will have the opportunity to work with various teams and executive management to drive Seller business. To achieve this, you need a strong passion for developing insights, and you must be able to articulate how data should be used in decision making. This requires excellent business acumen and communication skills as well as the ability to work with business leaders to develop and define key business questions.

Key job responsibilities
Analyze how and where to source customer demanded Selection from our Selling Partners.
Identify growth drivers or problems of our Selection; and act on improvement opportunities with peers. (Account Managers, Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Scientists)
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions
Learn and share best practices with teams outside of Japan.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Business or related field.
Minimum 5+ years of work experience in the following roles: Product Manager, Business/Data Analyst or Data Scientist.
Product management (including tech/non-tech projects): ability to manage products and projects across a variety of teams such as Tech, Legal, Sales etc.
Data analysis, data driven decision making: ability to find necessary data, understand data in DW, data analysis using Excel and other BI softwares, using data for proposal and decision making.
Documentation: writing reporting documents, justification documents, business requirement documents in English.
Business level English language skills (both verbal and written) required
Proven ability to generate new ideas and get things done: ability to continuously present ideas in ambiguous situations. Influencing and working with people to make those ideas real.
Experience launching an automated product/feature with global stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Fluent in SQL and at least 1 scripting language
• Familiar with database and data warehousing concepts, especially Redshift
• Japanese language skills
• MBA or MS from a top tier program
