TheSr. Product Manager, Pharmaceutical Product Development and Portfolio Managementwill need to be a subject matter expert inpharmaceuticalproduct development - responsible for lifecycle management of current commercial/consumer portfolio of over the counter (OTCs), vitamins, minerals & supplements (VMS) and the prescription (Rx) portfolio of products. Additionally, this person will be responsible for pipeline development including researching and proposing new products based on the growth-based strategy of the organization.
Location - Fully remote(ideally targeting individuals in EST, based on geographical location of team members)
Responsibilities
Assess current portfolio performance and work cross-functionally to achieve growth objectives for market share and op income growth.Identification of portfolio lifecycle enhancements/changes (new strengths, pack size, discontinuations etc.)Responsible for researching and identifying generic OTC, VMS and Rx (unit dose) product launch opportunities for both the commercial (Retail & Acute) and consumer markets (eCommerce) through analysis of industry, market, trends, competitors and customer needs assessment.Work cross-collaboratively with the sourcing and project management teams to identify and bring new products to launch.Responsible for development and ownership of the commercial & consumer Stage Gate form and presentation of recommended products to launch to a cross-functional team for approval.Work cross-collaboratively with marketing and sales to promote new products and base business as needed.Monitor category trends for new product innovation and make appropriate recommendations for changes to portfolio product line to increase profit margin.Analyze and report on product category growth trends, market share assessment for competitors within each category as it pertains to the overall portfolio.Competitive assessment including competitor new product launches, brand to generic launches and discontinuations etc.Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions and provide insight and recommendations to portfolio enhancements based on these findings.Leverage secondary market research and supporting analytics relating to competitive landscape, market structure, product mix and strategic forces within the respective categories to identify product portfolio opportunities and competitive threats.Work alongside marketing, sales, and sales operations teams to translate customer insights (VoC) into product strategies which drive category performance working closely within the stage gate process.Works cross-functionally to provide product support and input regarding various marketing and sales initiatives (i.e., sales promotion opportunities)Responds to internal and external customer queries regarding new product opportunities.Qualifications
Experience researching, launching, and managing a portfolio of healthcare and/or pharmaceutical products highly preferred.Ideally targeting individuals with 8+ years of experience in related field (Pharmaceuticals).Experience with analyzing third-party data sources such as IQVIA, Neilsen etc. preferredExtensive data analytics experience including proficiencies in Excel and Alteryx preferred.What is expected of you and others at this level
Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with the cross-functional teams (i.e., sourcing, inventory, sales, marketing, project management, artwork etc.)Serve as a product expert for commercial/consumer products, working with business stakeholders to build expert understanding of product functionality and its role in the broader offering, as well as how the product uniquely meets customer needs and is differentiated in the market.Accountable for gaining and driving cross functional support from all stakeholders (Leadership, sales, sourcing, inventory, project management, artwork, marketing etc.) involved in bringing products to market as well as the management of the portfolio.Identify and remain current on market trends. Determines product/service lifecycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success.Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment.Works effectively across cross-functional groups including but not limited to sourcing, inventory, marketing, operations, and sales, project management.#LI-LP
