General Summary
The Sr. Plant Electrician is responsible for providingmaintenance/electrical support across asphalt and aggregate materialplant operation systems and equipment, including but not limited powerdistribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, systems andcomponents, process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic equipment.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct power to PLC\'s and a variety ofvariable speed drive-controlled production equipment in crushing,asphalt, and process plants.{=html}<>- Perform electrical maintenance on plant equipment including but not limited to 480V/ 240V/ 120V/ 24V powers systems.- Commission, install, remove, repair electrical components, electrical systems of equipment.- Install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of electrical equipment such as electrical conduit, wiring, starters, breakers, and automatic control systems.- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.- Evaluate and recommend systems, equipment repairs and modifications to optimize process operations.- Prioritize and make decisions regarding equipment repair as needed.- Interpret and apply information from electrical schematics, prints, maintenance, and equipment manuals.- Perform routine and non-routine electrical and preventative maintenance and/or predictive maintenance on equipment.- Perform safety/electrical inspections including but not limited to ground tests.- Communicate effectively with external vendors and personnel as needed.- May operate mobile equipment including but not limited to front end loader, skid steer, forklift, and dozer as needed.- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
Completion of electrical apprenticeship program, trade schoolcertification, associate degree, or equivalent formal training,required.Work Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial electrical repairand maintenance with up to 480V, preferrable in aggregate materials,asphalt, heavy industrial operations, or large mining, required.
7-10 years of industrial maintenance experience with PLC\'s,preferred.
Experience operating mobile equipment, preferred.
Valid Driver\'s License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tiedoff.Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extendedhours).Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in allweather conditions.Ability to work in safety sensitive mine/construction setting,including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced andcomplex environment.Ability to obtain an MSHA certificate as required for the job.Ability to communicate effectively.Physical Demands
Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordinationwith ability to: grasp, assemble, and lift objects, stand, sit, andwalk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climbladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confinedspaces.Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50 lbs. ormore.About Granite Construction Incorporated
