  The Discovery Tech team helps customers discover and engage with new, popular and relevant products across Amazon worldwide. We do this by combining technology, science, innovation and creativity to build new customer-facing features and experiences alongside cutting edge tools for marketers. You will be responsible for creating and building critical services that automatically generate, target, and optimize Amazon’s cross-category marketing and merchandising. Through the enablement of intelligent marketing campaigns that leverage machine-learning models, you will help to deliver the best possible shopping experience for Amazon’s customers all over the globe.

  We believe in rapid development and frequent experimentation, allowing us to continuously improve the customer experience. You will have the opportunity to explore the many channels Amazon provides for customer outreach and engagement, both onsite and offsite. The team provides a great opportunity to make an outsized impact in a burgeoning space and on fresh or even yet to be built services.   We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product Manager Technical.

  Great candidates for this position possess a sound understanding of computer science and a passion to make a profound impact for our customers. You will have the opportunity to apply this passion by leveraging your technical and program management skills leading large, critical projects involving distributed systems, web development, front-end/back-end design, and more. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with diverse business and technical partners to shape our technology.

  You are a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and who has a track record of building strong teams that deliver results. You have a strong sense of ownership, passion to provide great customer experience and excellent troubleshooting skills even when in high-pressure situations.

  Your responsibilities will include:

  · Owning strategic planning to achieve business objectives and define product vision, experimentation roadmap, and comprehensive balanced KPIs to measure impact and progress.

  · Hiring and developing a high performing team of PM-Ts, TPMs, BIEs and PMs

  · Managing and mentoring managers and individual contributors , ensuring organizational health and career development within your organization

  · Working closely with software managers, engineers and business stakeholders across different teams on a daily basis to define system architecture, elaborate user stories and discuss business and technical trade-offs.

  · Organizing customer research and studies to inform new tech investments.

  We need a leader who eager to learn with us as we defining the future of Amazon’s Marketing and Merchandising. Experience with high-availability eCommerce services will be very applicable and helpful.

  Basic Qualifications

  Strong business and technical vision; candidate has shaped a complex technical program before.

  Proven experience in product management of multiple initiatives with competing priorities and influencing multiple diverse stakeholders (business, tech).

  Demonstrated strong data-driven approach. Ability to pull data themselves (preferred), define data requirements/brief BIs.

  Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences. Experience communicating with technical and non-technical senior stakeholders across multiple business units. Strong written communication skills.

  Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

  BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

  7+ years experience building technical products.

  Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $307,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
