Team:
The STEP Training and Development (STEP T&D) team designs, develops, and delivers learning solutions for ServiceNow's Success, Technology, Experience and Platform (STEP) Organization. STEP T&D sits within the Strategic Business Operations organization supporting the President and Chief Operating Officer in driving operational excellence within the STEP learning community which includes Engineering, Product Experience, Product Management, Customer Support, and Customer Success.

Role
As a Senior Manager for STEP Training & Development Team, you'll lead team members as they work with key stakeholders to evaluate, design, develop and deliver effective learning solutions that empower our Success, Technology, Experience and Platform (STEP) Organization. You'll apply knowledge and understanding of the essential aspects of curriculum design and development to guide your team toward the execution of learning strategies, delivery of learning outcomes, and optimization of learning experiences. Also, you'll have the opportunity to lead by example, supporting the team through projects that advance your own curriculum development skills and the team's development.
The successful candidate will personally demonstrate and expect the following capabilities from their team: curiosity, analytical mindset, resourcefulness, team-orientation, and intrinsic motivation along with a strong curriculum design and development background.
What you get to do in this role:
Lead a team of instructional designers, eLearning/media developers, and graphic designers who deliver high-quality learning programs and curriculum strategies for a variety of delivery types (eLearning, video, instructor-led, blended, etc...) in partnership with individuals and groups, across multiple organizations.
Coach and guide the team to implement design strategies and development techniques that achieve business results, enable learners, and are in line with instructional design and development best practices.
Assess team members capabilities, skills, and performance. Coach employees toward development that matches their growth goals or performance gaps.
Support team members' collaboration with Project Managers, Learning Business Partners, eLearning Developers, Multi-Media Developers, and graphic designers to coordinate activities for geographically dispersed teams.
Anticipate how changes in the organization or industry may impact the team and identify process improvements and innovations to the way we design, develop, and deliver training.
Leverage your skills as a curriculum designer or developer to lead learning & development initiatives at any stage of the curriculum development process. Lead other projects that support the team and achieve business results.
Collaborate with other team managers and leaders, contributing thought leadership on instructional design best practices and champion enhancements/improvements/innovations to the design and development processes and lead in the implementation efforts of these improvements.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:Minimum 12-16 years' of total experience5 or more years' experience managing, coaching, and improving the performance of learning & development professionals.7+ years' experience in a technical training environment, preferably for Engineering, Support, Cloud Services, and/or Product organizations within a major technology company that uses instructional design with eLearning.Experience with creative design and illustrative tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is a plusExperience managing learning programs with a variety of learning & development roles, including learning business partners, project managers, curriculum designers and developers, instructors, and learning platform administrators to develop, deliver and optimize technical training.The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary global team with a flexible work style. Basic Qualifications:Expertise in modern course development and delivery methods and tools.Knowledge of adult learning principles, course development methodologies (ISD, ADDIE, SAM), and Kirkpatrick's training evaluation levels.Experience designing and developing a variety of learning offerings: web-based/eLearning, video, instructor-led classes, blended learning, assessments. Experience collaborating with and extracting knowledge from subject matter experts to create content that achieves the learning objectives.Demonstrated experience with learning and design tools, including eLearning development tools and learning management systems. Articulate Storyline and Rise strongly preferred.Practical use of Camtasia, Premier Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience analyzing data to draw conclusions, assess impact and make recommendations for updates to training.Outstanding executive-level verbal and written communication skills.Excellent presentation skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills. A strong desire for continuous improvement and driven to achieve goals. The ability to learn quickly, be curious, open to feedback and highly adaptable to change.Strong organizational skills and is disciplined with time to effectively manage team needs and projects simultaneously. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design and Learning Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.JV20
