As a Sr Manager of Lean Manufacturing, you will be accountable for leading the development and implementation of lean strategy and culture for NuVasive Manufacturing to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. You will lead lean academies and other courses for the entire organization to further the growth of our people, coach various leaders of multi-functional areas in lean practices, and partner to initiate strategic process improvement programs with significant change impact across the NuVasive Manufacturing facility, using a lean manufacturing technique
You will also;
Maintain a long-term roadmap for lean at NuVasive Manufacturing.
Keep updated and deliver training programs for introducing and creating a baseline understanding of lean practices.
Responsible for effectively leading, mentoring, and developing lean teams in the application of tools and processes including Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Heijunka, 5S, and 3P.
Promote innovation in methods techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Lead multiple value stream program efforts from beginning to adoption.
Facilitate the creation and implementation of the Daily Management System.
Facilitate week-long action workouts to drive toward model lines.
Supervise and budget for direct reports within the teams and programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Capabilities
Ability to perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
Ability to establish, partner, and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, Human Resources, and leadership.
Basic understanding of MS Office software, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong business, analytical, organizational, project management, and planning skills.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Perform duties in compliance with applicable FDA and state regulations as well as standards including, but not limited to, ISO 13485.
Education and Experience
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
Experience in Lean manufacturing (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen leadership, TAKT Time Production management and implementation).
Preferred Six Sigma green belt certification.
Preferred experience using Hoshin Kanri methodology and implementation.
Travel and/or Physical Requirements
Travel less than 10% required
