  In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing, and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA.   This position is in Kansas City, MO. In office 3 days per week, remote 2 days per week.

  Summary

  Develops, coordinates, and leads the implementation of medium to large IT initiatives and technical improvement efforts, or components of larger, complex initiatives. Leads IT projects including coordinating activities, personnel, and budget. Responsibilities are for one or more medium to large IT project with moderate to high complexity.

  Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  •Leads the design, development, and implementation of one or more medium to large IT projects.

  •Defines project requirements.

  •Follows defined IT project management processes, standards, and procedures. May help identify process improvement opportunities.

  •Develops and maintains all IT project-related documentation.

  •Develops and communicates IT project plan, schedules, cost, and progress.

  •Provides continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team including, scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project work.

  •Determines staffing requirements /employee discipline(s) and forms IT project team(s).

  •Identifies and takes action to mitigate potential risks and issues and makes recommendations to management when escalation is required.

  •Utilizes process improvement techniques such as six sigma tools and SEI-CMM processes.

  •Assesses variances from the plan and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure project meets time, cost and quality objectives.

  •Conducts formal customer reviews at IT project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.

  •Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders.

  •Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established HS&E requirements to ensure the protection of employees, the public, and the environment.

  •Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every employee has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

  You Must Have:

  • Must have experience in IT Governance, the application of project management practices, principles, and tools in managing IT projects through delivery.

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering or Physical Science with a minimum of 24 semester hours of computer-related courses, or two additional years of direct work experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

  • Substantial experience, preferably more than 6 years of relevant work experience in related field, to include formal project management training.

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance.

  We Value:

  • 2-3 years’ experience working within IT Governance related to Information Technology or other technical activities with thorough knowledge of computer system Infrastructure, applications, and principles, to include proven effective oral and written communications.

  • Develop and implement processes to assess and/or monitor the effectiveness of IT procedures to ensure adherence to standards and policies as appropriate.

  • Create and share reports with IT management, identifying IT process bottlenecks and suggesting options and recommendations.

  • Review and enhance the current process designs and discuss recommendations with teams.

  • Support in designing an IT operating model to consider outsourcing and insourcing models.

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written).

  • Recommend and use an Enterprise Architecture tool to implement within the organization, so the models, diagrams and other key information is captured, consistent, shared and kept updated by all teams.

  • Maintain strong and effective working relationships with all areas of Risk Management.

  • Must be able to interact tactfully with all levels of management and be able to handle a variety of diversified assignments.

  • Full understanding of IT project management processes and Knowledge of project management practices, principles, and tools.
