  The Position

  Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.

  The Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) seeks a Grants and Projects Analyst 2 to underfill a Grants and Projects Analyst 3 position who has a willingness to work in a high performing team environment. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and US DOT provide approximately $10 million dollars annually to fund traffic safety programs through OTS. In this position, the incumbent will coordinate with the Deputy Administrator to oversee the preparation and implementation of Nevada's triennial Highway Safety Plan and Annual Grant Application, research and analyze data, and review and evaluate grant projects and programs. The incumbent will support traffic safety program staff and will manage the agency grant processes and compliance with federal standards, including creating, maintaining, implementing, and auditing agency policies, documents, and training materials. The incumbent will need to become immersed in learning about highway safety program management, manage federal grant funds, and work with the dynamic OTS team members to make a difference in public safety. Comprehensive highway safety and grant management training are provided to ensure the incumbent is successful in meeting the goals and objectives of the agency. This position requires travel in and out of state, up to 25% of the time, for training and program support purposes and travel expenses are paid for by the agency.   To Qualify:

  In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

  Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the areas as described above; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Notes

  Travel may be required up to 25% of the time. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. Must be able to work nights/weekends/holidays.Special Requirements
