Sr. Homologation Engineer Location: Irvine, CA (Remote) Duration: 12 months Description: This is what youll do: As a Senior Homologation Engineer this role will take responsibility for all interactions necessary to achieve certification and/or homologation in global markets for consumer and commercial vehicles. Assist design and engineering teams with interpreting regulatory requirements, including seeking out interpretations from technical services and type approval agencies as needed. Monitor the status of applicable global regulations (e.g. FMVSS, ECE, GB) and consumer ratings protocols (e.g. US and Euro NCAP, IIHS, RCAR) as they are updated. Communicate current and upcoming requirements to the engineering team, through formal and informal design reviews, and in our requirements management tool JAMA, JIRA, etc. Assist in scheduling and overseeing all regulatory testing for global markets and sign off certification/homologation tests(DVP) in JAMA, JIRA. Oversee development and population of all necessary information documents and certificates of conformity for EU WVTA. Prepare compliance document for all FMVSS and CMVSS subjects, including collation of all necessary test reports, drawings, and judgments. Monitor product design changes and revise self-certification compliance documents and whole vehicle type approval certificates as needed. This is what youll need: 3 to 5+ years experience in homologation at an auto manufacturer/testing lab supporting auto certification testing, preferably on an electric vehicle program. A robust understanding of the entire US and Canadian self-certification process and/or the EU/ECE Whole Vehicle Type Approval process. A strong understanding of global active and passive safety regulations applicable to electric vehicles. Experience with requirements management tool (JAMA, JIRA, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across the client organization as well as with government authorities and test labs.
