Description We are looking to bring a Sr. Grant Accountant into our team located in Towson, Maryland. This role primarily involves managing the entire grant lifecycle, ensuring financial compliance, and generating comprehensive financial reports. As a part of our team, you will be working in a collaborative environment, liaising with different teams and external stakeholders. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities
• Manage the comprehensive lifecycle of grants, ensuring adherence to donor requirements and grant agreements.
• Prepare, review, and update grant budgets, financial reports, and forecasts to provide relevant information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with program managers to ensure proper allocation and spending of funds.
• Adhere strictly to accounting principles, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements in the administration of grants.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and rectify any discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
• Generate detailed and accurate financial reports, providing insights into the financial performance of grant-funded programs.
• Collaborate with program managers to develop financial narratives that effectively communicate the impact of grant funds.
• Work closely with the Finance Director/Controller and program managers to develop annual budgets for grant-funded programs.
• Assist in forecasting financial needs and identifying potential funding gaps.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration between finance, program, and development teams to ensure a cohesive approach to grant management.
• Provide guidance and training to staff involved in grant-related activities. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in Grant Accounting is mandatory.
• Familiarity with HUD regulations is required.
• Working knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software is essential.
• A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are expected.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are necessary.
• The candidate must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
• Experience working with non-profit organizations would be advantageous.
