  About the Role

  The Data Science Team at Gap Inc. applies data analysis and machine learning techniques to drive business benefits for Gap Inc. and its brands. The team's focus is on ML / AI and Analytical capabilities to support customer acquisition and retention, personalization, and marketing at Gap Inc. Areas of expertise include search and recommendation, segmentation, targeting, forecasting, marketing effectiveness measurement and optimizations, customer behaviors, site analytics and business growth initiatives. You will support the team to build and deploy Data and Analytics capabilities, in partnership with GapTech, PDM, Central Marketing & business partners across our brands.

  What You'll Do

  Leading the strategy, vision, and execution of Personalization. The responsibilities include personalization digital analytics, experimentation, casual modeling, search and recommendation modeling, and content personalization.Create a highly skilled org with Directors and Principal scientists to drive business impactPartner very closely with leaders of Product Management, Engineering and Brand leaders to help create very impactful personalization experiences for customersCommunicate meaningful, actionable insights from large data and metadata sources to stakeholdersRegularly influence leadership team decisions and initiativesWho You Are

  Strong technical skills in building and implementing Search and Recommender systems at scale or scaled ML/AI systemsExperience in Product data science for retail (preferred)Strong storytelling and influencing skillsAbility to work both at a detailed level as well as to summarize findings and extrapolate knowledge to make strong recommendations for changeAbility to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence product and analytics roadmap, with a demonstrated proficiency in relationship buildingDevelop innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment; cover a wide range of activities requiring complex judgmentsComprehensive understanding of theories and practices in multiple related subject areasBenefits at Gap Inc.

  Salary Range: $193,800 - $266,100 USD

  Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
