Role: Purchasing Agent

　　As a member of the Eagle Technologies Team, the Purchasing Agent oversees and completes purchases of materials and supplies to support the manufacturing facility.

　　The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for all purchasing and bid soliciting in the manufacturing facility in Newport News, VA. This role will manage inventory, purchasing activities, planning, forecasting, receiving, and meeting the overall supply demands of the production facility. The position reports to the VP of Finance & Administration. The position requires a continuous evaluation and adjustment of priorities and duties based on production needs.

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Execute/Coordinate all purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner

　　Directly supports all the departments by obtaining materials and supplies needed

　　Monitors the cost, schedule, and scope of vendors and suppliers to assure the highest quality at the best price and consider total cost, including freight

　　Manages vendor pricing to obtain maximum ROI. Negotiate appropriate contracts for pricing and supply

　　Develop solid relationships and establish material replenishment methods with vendors and suppliers

　　Issues Purchase Orders, confirm order acknowledgments, monitor returns, and maintain tracking information

　　Track incoming inventory and delivery arrival time and note actual arrival time

　　Manage delivery, quality performance, cost, and customer satisfaction for established vendors

　　Manages receiving of all incomings supplies, materials, parts, etc.

　　Resolve billing and shipping problems and provide information to suppliers

　　Responsible for all aspects associated with coordinating product cycle counts and managing the responsibilities of the year-end inventory count in conjunction with Accounting

　　Work with team members to develop future purchasing plans

　　Identify and approve potential vendors and suppliers for future project needs

　　Develop purchasing policies and procedures and obtain approval for new policies

　　Act as the liaison with accounting to ensure ERP system requirements are achieved and vendors are paid in a timely manner

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Bachelor's degree in Business/Logistics

　　A minimum of 5 years related experience as a purchasing officer, manager, or related position

　　Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems

　　Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

　　Experience with ERP systems and SAGE 50 Accounting

　　Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts

　　Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

　　Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer
