　　AFT’s Inbound team delivers innovative solutions to automatically receive and process billions of units of inventory from Amazon’s vendors and third-party sellers worldwide, making the merchandise quickly available to Amazon customers.

　　This team is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer to give us the insights we need to run our business.

　　As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will be responsible for providing actionable performance metrics in a format that is easy to digest at the highest levels in the organization. These business metrics highlight areas of risk and opportunity, performance outliers, and assist in making well-informed, data-based business decisions. Using this information, we will help business leaders develop a strategy on what company-wide investments to make and the level of their importance.

　　You will be working in one of the world's largest data warehouse environments. Working in AFT, you will own BI reporting and dashboarding solutions that are used by multiple L8s and L10s.

　　You should have deep expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets. An ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills to be able to work with business owners to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questions.

　　You should have expertise in designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the data warehouse and into end-user facing applications. You should be able to work with business customers in a fast paced environment understanding the business requirements and implementing reporting solutions.

　　Above all, you should bring your passion for working with huge data sets and bringing datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　• Engage with leadership and diversified functional groups to understand the needs and recommend business intelligence solutions.

　　• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards, to drive key business decisions.

　　• Partner with technology teams to define, extract, transform, and load data from many data sources using SQL and other tools.

　　• Automate and simplify self-service or reporting pipelines, including improving ETL workflows, automatic alarming and performance tuning.

　　• Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and data issues and formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership and technical teams

　　• Participate in strategic and tactical planning discussions and provide data insights. Challenge business teams to think differently about how they digest and use the data insights to make informed decisions.

　　• Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve business KPI's

　　Be connected and influential within the Amazon BIE community. Work with Data engineering, Software development teams to enable the appropriate capture and storage of key data points.

　　Work with business and ops stakeholders to build metrics dashboards that KPI's for scaling AFT Inbound processes.

　　The AFT Inbound team builds products for IB Cross-Docks (IXDs) and Fulfilment Centers (FCs) to support IB Dock, Receive, Decant, Stow, and Transship process paths. Our vision is to become the most preferred partner for our suppliers, processing inventory at the lowest possible cost and highest speed and quality in order to delight our customers while making the everyday lives of our Amazon Associates (AAs) better and safer. In 2023, we estimate 24B units of inventory across NA and EU from 6MM suppliers, through 69 IXDs and stowed merchandisable inventory across 479 FCs supported by 198K Inbound Associates.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　7+ years of professional or military experience

　　5+ years of SQL experience

　　Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

　　Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

　　Experience with AWS technologies

　　Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

　　Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

　　Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

　　Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
