What Data Management and Governance contributes to Cardinal Health
The Data & Analytics Function oversees the analytics life-cycle in order to identify, analyze and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. This function manages analytic data platforms, the access, design and implementation of reporting/business intelligence solutions, and the application of advanced quantitative modeling.
Data Management and Governance provides direction of data assets and is responsible for data strategy, quality, standards and service levels. Data management acquires, validates, standardizes, enriches, protects and publishes structured, third party and unstructured data for use by the business. Governance defines and implements policies, standards and metrics that ensure the effective and efficient use of trusted data and statistical models to support regulatory and business goals.
Responsibilities
Execute data remediation use cases leveraging the Data Remediation PlaybookWork with Data Stewards, Data Owners and other stakeholders to remediate data defects and bring data in line with established data governance standardsIdentify root cause of data defects, design and implement people, process, or technology controls to address the root cause of the defectsPartner with business and technical SMEs to determine the correct values and partner with IT custodians to design and implement a remediation planReview outputs from data governance and data quality processes to help Data Stewards to identify opportunities to remediate data defectsPresent at Working Groups and other Leadership meetings for alignment and approvalIdentify and record business value derived from the execution of data remediation activitiesSupport data teams to help drive data complianceCoach domain specific and federated data stewards through the planning, and execution of data remediation use cases to build remediation capabilities across the data steward communityQualifications
8-12 years of related experience preferredBA, BS or equivalent experience in related field preferred; Advance Degree may be requiredStrong analytics skills and knowledge of analytics tools such as Alteryx, SQL, or Python (preferred)Experience writing business rules and data quality rules (preferred)Proven understanding of data structures and data elementsStrong project management skills to plan, organize and execute work independentlyProven understanding of driving data governance, data quality and data remediationProcess oriented, with experience in process mappingExperience guiding data modeling, data lineage and data usage decisionsAbility to understand the business, high-level technical solutions and associated data creation and consumptionStrong communication skills to collaborate across various teams and process areasStrong influential and facilitation skills to collaborate across various teams and process areasWhat is expected of you and others at this level
