Description

　　Company located in Terrell, TX needs a senior accountant on a contract basis to assist with audit preparation work. Must be able to work 100% ONSITE in Terrell, Texas. This is a 2-3 month contract position.

　　Senior Accountant (contract):

　　Assist with year-end audit preparation

　　Maintain spreadsheets from last year for Capital Assets & Grants

　　Bank reconciliations

　　Need to catch up for all of 2023 bank reconciliations

　　Have about 40 accounts in total – mainly 2 big ones (clearing fund is the main/challenging – 10 funds in total) & (public/private partnership – 16 funds). Other funds are pretty small and fairly straightforward

　　Must have strong Excel skills – effectively navigate in Excel (pivot tables)

　　Capital asset walk forward:

　　Tracking capital asset activities and purchasing in the spreadsheets

　　Work with the audit firm through engagement organizer to complete the audit

　　Grant walk forward from prior the year:

　　Listing of the grants, add any new grants/activity (10-15 grants)

　　Existing grants on the spreadsheet – if there are additional draw downs or reimbursements

　　Have to be able to work independently

　　Will have support from the team from Director of Finance

　　May have to do some outreach to folks to gather information

　　Top Items:

　　MUST be very comfortable in excel

　　Pay more attention to soft skills w/ someone (ability to understand concept) – Independent, communication, personable

　　Requirements

　　Capital assets experience

　　Bank reconciliations experience

　　Strong familiarity with grant accounting

　　BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
