Description
Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with a desire to join a reputable company in the business services industry. In this role, you will be handling financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This position requires top-notch analytical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This Senior Accountant role is located in Hayward, California. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work in partnership with Assistant Controller in resolving accounting issues, preparing reports for management, and specific accounting projects
• Assist Assistant Controller and Controller to ensure a timely and accurate monthly general ledger close and preparation of financial statements for both management reporting and tax reporting purposes.
• Work with staff and senior management to create and post journal entries and accruals, account analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, for assigned areas of responsibility, which will initially include but are not limited to:
o Inventory o Sales Contract Accounting o Job Costing o Revenue Recognition o Percentage of Completion o Commissions o Bank Reconciliations
• Complete governmental filings as required, such as quarterly and/or annual census
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving internal controls to support growth.
• Prepare audit schedules, work papers and other supporting documentation as required.
• Interface with external auditors during quarterly review and annual audit
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets, and related balance sheet and cash flow reports, and monthly forecasts.
• Special projects, analyses and other accounting tasks as assigned.
Requirements
• 4-year college degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or related field strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a variety of accounting positions with financial reporting and general ledger responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and current accounting practices
• Proficient skills with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word
• Proficient ERP experience
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
