Position SummaryThe Senior Associate Director of Consulting Career Initiatives will work as a subject matter expert as it relates to the consulting industry including the hiring landscape of large, mid-size and small consulting firms, niche/specialty firms and consulting functions including strategy, human capital, technology-focused, supply chain, etc; analyzes markets and trends as they relate to the consulting job search and incorporates tips/advice into coaching students, develops programming and associated content; key connection with alumni working in consulting; builds new relationships and strengthens existing connections with consulting firms; leverages network and relationships to lead, manage and organize individual coaching sessions and small group meetings with students who have an interest in consulting; conducts individual 1:1 mock case interviews for graduate and undergraduate students (in person and virtual) - pen to appointments with all MSU students; plans, manages and facilitates external resources for MSU students interested in pursuing opportunities in consulting including an alumni list for connections with students; manages consulting peer coach group (MBA & UG) to conduct individual 1:1 mock case interviews for undergraduate students and graduate students respectively; evangelizes consulting as a career option to UG students within Broad College and across MSU via presentations, emails, video and other opportunities to engage with students and stakeholders across campus; organizes, creates and populates cache of online consulting career search resources for use as needed "just in time"; manages the "Interested in Consulting" distribution list to ensure all MSU students interested in consulting receive targeted messaging and information related to careers in consulting (including recruiting opportunities, scheduled workshops, resources, etc); conducts large group "Intro to Consulting and Case Interview Basics" workshops 4x year; conducts large group "Consulting Bootcamp" 4x/year including one over summer-(1)8 hr session or (2) 4 hour sessions-content is advanced case prep; lead for connection with student organizations focused on consulting (MBA &UG); works with Palmer Center Team to connect with consulting firms to plan consulting coffee chats, consulting career panels, consulting firm career treks, consulting firm presentations, etc; liaison with key faculty members as stakeholders and support for students interested in pursuing opportunities with large, strategy-focused consulting firms; loops in faculty for fireside chats with high-level alumni (partners,C-suite) working in consulting.

Minimum Requirements5+ years working in strategy consulting function in mid-size or large consulting firm(s); 2 + years supervising others; experience with early talent/university recruiting, especially evaluating students' case interviews; proven ability to develop productive long-term relationships with key stakeholders; history of talent development and coaching in business/industry; impact and results orientation; gets things done both individually and through others
