General Summary….
The Field Support Specialist provides expert support services in the field to internal customers and end-users. They use analytical thinking to troubleshoot technical issues and provide business solutions to resolve them.
This position will be responsible for…..
Subject matter expert for the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of any/all PCs/Laptops, other endpoint hardware, software and operating systems.
Liaison between business customers, operations and the Field support group.
Perform software inventory and distribution (update/patch deployment).
Evaluate new information system products and services.
Suggest changes to existing products/services to better assist end users.
Resolve all technical matters to meet customer service level agreements.
Provides guidance to less experienced personnel.
Maintain the integrity, security, performance and availability of endpoint systems.
Deliver technical assistance for computer related software and peripherals.
Works under little to no supervision.
Meet with Management/participate in special projects, as required.
Performs complex tasks/multi-tasks.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field and 6 years of relevant experience.
In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 8 years of relevant experience.

Able to demonstrate an advanced understanding in the following areas: Personal/Laptop Computers & related OS & software/hardware/ peripherals (including printers); Personal/Laptop Computer repair; Computer imaging concepts/ practices; Computer/System management products/tools (Dell KACE); Mobile devices - iPhone, iPad and Blackberry & associated OS; McAfee Antivirus (and related concepts/tools), Malware/ Spyware removal concepts/tools.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, work instructions, process maps and/or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of internal and external customers.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards.
