Special Events Specialist The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)
Description:
Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Special Events Lead is to assist in the planning, coordination and execution of events and partnerships. In addition, this position will perform duties in cross-functional collaboration with multiple departments, along with assisting the Marketing team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Assist and support the Sr. Marketing and Special Events Manager on all event coordination
Understand all requirements, expectations, and regulations for each event
Create pre and post event measurables and provide analytics to leadership
Coordinate with vendors and partners during the event planning process to ensure all details of each event are in order
Assist with event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes
Assist with ensuring all specifics related to each event are on-site and/or with partners for the successful execution of each event
Manage budget to ensure events fall within pre-established limits
Works closely and professionally with Food &Beverage, Player Development, VIP, OPS, and True Rewards
Solicit feedback on event performance to ensure increased guests experiences
Support management with reviewing, writing, proofing, receiving, and distributing brand collateral
Research and input purchase orders for gifts, décor, entertainment, and general promotional items
Maintain an updated inventory of all event-related materials and department owned goods
Review proposals and itineraries to ensure accuracy
Assist with the creation and maintenance of the Corporate Special Event calendar
Assist with executing requirements for décor, entertainment, space, and any other event specific needs.
Offers leadership to Part Time Special Events Reps as needed
Aid with the organization of all tasks related to each event, while being aware of both internal and external deadlines
Submit collateral requests to the creative team and manage the process for special event invitations and collateral, ensuring consistent best practices are applied
Maintain accurate event files and expenses and submit final reports in a timely manner
Communicate accurately and effectively with support departments and outside vendors to ensure all event details are known.
Attend events and actively assist in overall event supervision and act quickly to resolve issues.
Train third-party vendors on event specific SOPs for events as deemed necessary.
Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, if they apply to the position
Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications
Experience working for a large-scale, luxury resort preferred
Extraordinary attention to detail, while working under tight deadlines
Must have a professional demeanor and remain calm under pressure.
Strong multitasking skills and adapt to quickly changing situations.
Strong problem-solving skills
Deadline orientated with effective time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Must possess a high sense of urgency
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Proficient in MS Office
Proven experience providing high level of guest service
Ability to access and input information using a moderately complex computer system
Proficient in MS Office
At least 21 years of age
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
