As a Special Education Teacher, you will design & implement anindividual educational program for each student. Modify theMassachusetts Curriculum Frameworks to accommodate individual student\'sacademic abilities. Bachelor\'s Degree in Special Education or relatedfield, & Massachusetts Certificate in Special Education required.Related teaching experience preferred. Requirements include current MAdriver\'s license & the ability to handle children in crisis safely,with compassion. Key Responsibilities: Develop classroom schedule &implement daily academic lesson plans. Plan activities for schoolvacations & summer school recreational program. Assist in writing schoolcurriculum. Write & implement IEPs. Design & implement pre-vocational &vocational curriculum within the daily schedule. Understand & implementthe school behavior management program. Design & implementindividualized & group behavior management programs. Participate in IEPmeetings, team meetings & supervision. Have knowledge of MCAS testingincluding, knowing which students take it by accommodations or byalternative assessment portfolios. Gather MCAS information to createportfolios in time for spring submission. Continually track studentprogress, complete semi-annual report cards, & write student transcriptsannually. Complete weekly, quarterly & annual reports. Maintain &organize classroom supplies & equipment. All other responsibilities asassigned by supervisor. Any work assigned shall be related to theEmployee\'s normal duties, except for occasional emergencies. Lathamwill assist teachers pursuing Licensure by reimbursing for theirMTEL\'s.
