　　St. Mary's Healthcare System is seeking to fill a PRN, as needed, Interpreter position for our hospital in Athens.

　　This position works every other weekend plus Monday - Friday as needed.

　　Provides consecutive language interpretation for limited English proficient patients and families whose primary language is Spanish.

　　Two-year associates degree or in progress of completing four year degree and one year experience as a medical interpreter/ patient representative, customer service advocacy or related field in a hospital or clinical setting preferred. Qualified applicants should be proficient in all four modalities of both languages, English and Spanish (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). Compassionate and professional presence for accompanying and assisting patients in the clinical setting, especially in imaging services. Assists with translation of medical documents and phone calls to patients regarding appointments and financial assistance matters. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.
