The selected applicantwill lead efforts related to NASA engineering services for nuclear thermalpropulsion (NTP), nuclear electric propulsion (NEP), and fissionsurface power (FSP). AMA is seeking applicants with entrepreneurial spiritwho are interested in supporting business development and growing their team.In addition to completing the application on our website(www.ama-inc.com/careers) candidates selected for an interview will berequired to provide two or more references. The compensation for this positionis expected to be between $120,0000-$190,000 and is commensurate withexperiencResponsibilities:*Lead a small team of nuclear engineers providing technical mentorship andreview.*Provide strategic vision for current and future work.*Support business development to grow business areas related to nuclearsystems.*Support interview and hiring for team members.*Perform technical analysis on par with PhD level research and analysis.*Publish reports, papers and articles on findings.*Participate in customer meetings and presentations.Requirements:*A Bachelor's degree in Nuclear / Systems Engineering or other relatedfield.Advanced degrees are highly desired but not required.*Minimum 10+ years of experience with research, design, and developmentof advanced nuclear power systems.*Demonstrated ability to lead highly technical teams and independently managetasks.*Technical writing experience and the ability to communicate complex technicalconcepts to a diverse multi-disciplinary team/audience. Ability toindependently communicate with and interface with government customers orstakeholders.*U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency

  Desired Qualifications:Not all desired qualifications are necessary or expected from applicants.Tasks will be assigned based on applicant's interest, niche skills, andstrengths.*Previous exposure to or research experience related to FSP, NTP, NEP,or alternative nuclear space systems.*Extensive experience working with NASA, DOE, DOD or other relatedgovernment agencies.*Project management skills (agile project management (APM), personneland task management, cost analysis and scheduling).*Experience with scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, orTimeline.*Previous exposure to or research experience related to the NASA systemsengineering process (or equivalent DoE, DoD processes).*Technical experience with reactor technology maturation planning,integrated systems qualification planning, and quantitative risk analysis.*Understanding of computational multiphysics requirements and approaches foradvanced reactor design.*Experience with Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) for advanced reactorqualificati n.*Experience writing technical proposals.The work is ITAR controlled - therefore, only US citizens or US permanentresidents can be considered.AMA is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and does notdiscriminate against any applicant for employment or employee because ofrace, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity,national origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or anyother characteristic prohibited under Federal, State, or local laws.
