GDIT is seeking a Solutions Architect/Estimator resource to support capture and proposal efforts for GDIT’s largest and most complex opportunities. You will be responsible for assisting with creation of Estimates and Basis of Estimate (BOE) for our highest priority opportunities, helping to drive our technical and business solutions. The extent of our portfolio and the scale of our $9B company ensure that you can take on new challenges and new roles as our business and mission-impact expands.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT :
Work with Capture and Solution teams in Pre-proposal phases to identify, benchmark and collect relevant estimating metrics that can be used to create defendable technical estimates
Lead estimating activities on large and complex proposals, including creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), estimation methodologies, estimating rationale, metrics collection as well as traditional BOE development
Use parametric modeling, analogous program comparison, historical data, engineering build-ups and other accepted methodologies to estimate the resources associated with a technical solution
Prepare BOE narratives, working closely with the technical solution team to ensure narratives are compelling, accurately reflect the proposed solution, and substantiate proposal cost / price
Prepare estimation inputs for pricing; document assumptions, risks, and other BOE-related information required for the business or technical or management volumes
Facilitate Technical Estimate reviews to make sure all scope and requirements have been adequately estimated and have a sufficient, defendable justification
Develop and deliver training on estimation process, estimating techniques and methods to Capture, Solution Architects, Proposal Managers, Pricing and Program Management as needed
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor's degree plus 15 years of related experience; OR in lieu of degree, equivalent combination of work experience, certification, and training may be considered.
5+ years experience related to IT cost estimation in a technical, program control, or project management capacity
Experience with metrics based estimating methodologies
Excellent leadership skills; must be able to work collaboratively with other members of the proposal team while still driving development of estimates and creation of BOE;s under tight deadlines
Ability to write clearly and precisely and pay meticulous attention to details
Preferred Qualifications:
Parametric cost estimation tool experience (SEER, QSM, TruePlanning or others)
Experience with development or delivery of IT Services
Secret or higher Clearance
