Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY ENGINEERRESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, WA State Dept. of Labor & Industries, NFPA, and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agenciesCollaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and proceduresMonitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards and develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employeesDevelop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by the EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, WA State Dept. of Ecology, DOT, ATF, TCEQ, TRRC and other applicable regulatory agenciesWork closely with engineers and technician teams to perform detailed safety reviews of complex hazardous operations to ensure safe executionLead or assist in all aspects of incident investigations including initial follow-up, root cause analysis, and corrective action development and closureImplement and develop safety and health programs including but not limited to:OSHA general industry and construction standardsHAZCOM, hazmat, cryogenics, compressed gasesConfined space, fall protection and lock-out/tag-outRadiation and laser safetyImplement and develop environmental programs including but not limited to:SPCC & SWPPPAir permittingHazardous waste managementDevelop safety solutions to resolve EHS hazards/concerns within cost and schedule constraints following a safety order of precedence to include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, work practice controls, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure that safety of personnel, property, and the environment are within acceptable risk boundariesPerform environmental compliance and due diligence audits to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agenciesInspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsDevelop, implement and maintain safety contingency plans (fires, spills, etc.)BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplinesPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineeringDemonstrated ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective servicesKnowledge of process safety management methods, pressure systems, and chemical delivery systemsStrong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulationsExperience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and waterMicrosoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).Strong organizational and communication skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as neededThis role requires you to be onsite out of our Redmond office location - remote work will not be consideredCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Pay range:Level I: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00/per yearLevel II: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00/per yearYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considera
