　　About the Role

　　As a Solutions Architect, you’ll help your customers plan their successful cloud journey. You’ll solve complex, technical challenges so your customers can focus on their business. This includes using your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. You’ll drive technical solutions discussions, diving deep into the details with customer teams.

　　Building relationships to understand our customers and partners is key. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives. You’ll help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals. Speeding up the adoption of our services will be part of your day to day.

　　You’ll also act as thought leader in the wider community. This includes playing a lead role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops. You won’t just be part of an industry movement; you’ll be leading it.

　　As a customer obsessed advisor, you’ll also have the chance to shape the direction of our products and services. This is through gathering feedback from customers whilst collaborating with our engineering and service teams.

　　This will require the following:

　　• Experience and/or deeper understanding in one or more technology areas. Specific knowledge in multiple technology domain areas (e.g., software development/architecture, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).

　　• Understanding of various design patterns like N-tier, micro-services, stateful vs stateless, request-response vs loose coupled vs reactive, batch/micro-batch/real-time.

　　• Expertise in open source programming & frameworks, API development/consumption.

　　• Understanding of distributed system design (CAP Theorem, Quorum selection, Circuit Breaking etc.).

　　• Good understanding of DevOps technologies, and Containers

　　• Understanding of Load Balancers, Network (subnets, NATs, Gateways), CDN, HTTP1/2, Storage systems, Security (Authentication/Authorisation, SSL).

　　Key job responsibilities

　　• Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business needs.

　　• Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical problems and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.

　　• Scope and own customer engagements, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.

　　• Work backwards from your customer's business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology

　　• Define and execute on the strategy by engaging highly technical teams (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners).

　　• Act as a thought leader in the wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops.

　　• Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform. Proactively work within the organisation to influence the evolution of the platform.

　　• Serve as a key technical member of the Solutions Architecture team through influencing decision makers across multiple domains to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the AWS platform which align to long-term business goals.

　　A day in the life

　　Our solutions architects are experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth coupled with strong interpersonal skills. The variety of customers is huge as we work across multiple industries within the Cross Industry segment. On a daily basis you will work alongside people who are leading the way in designing cloud bases architecture.

　　As a Solutions Architect you’ll own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. To do this you will collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem.

　　About the team

　　This role is within the Cross Industry team, working with India’s Digital Native Businesses (DNBs) to build innovative services with AWS, scaling to serve billion+ Indians. DNBs are rapidly and profoundly changing everyday life of Indians through their services of ecommerce, rides sharing, food delivery, social media, telemedicine and many more. The DNB team in Amazon Web Services India Private Limited (AWSIPL) is looking for a Solutions Architect who can work with our customers in travel, transportation, healthcare and lifesciences domains.

　　We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

　　Gurugram, HR, IND

　　Basic Qualifications

　　12+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

　　5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

　　Experience in developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation toward cloud computing

　　Able to create proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components

　　Prior experience in communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders, customers and internal facing teams.

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　Experience architecting, migrating or transforming customer requirements to the cloud

　　Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation, large scale automation and workflow management, database design and implementation and strongly articulating business value from technical solutions

　　Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

　　One or more valid AWS Certifications, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification

　　Presentation and white-boarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.
