  Why this job matters:

  The job entails significant levels of responsibility for end-to-end solution architecture of BT Business complex bids (multi-tower or IT Outsource customer bids and/or contracts during transition and transformation), maintaining an end-to-end viewpoint to the benefit of both BT and the customer outcome.

  As Solution Architect you require focus and commitment to lead a virtual team of technical, service and delivery professionals, creating end-to-end technical, service and delivery solutions, ensuring that business requirements are translated into deliverable solutions, which meet customers’ needs.

  The role holder will be engaged with customers (and internal BT stakeholders) up to and including executive level to provide confidence of BT’s design and delivery capability.

  What you’ll be doing:

  Lead the solution workstream activity for large, complex deals and manage this workstream across multiple opportunities as a leader within a BT Business Region, Vertical or Solutions Hub.

  Be accountable for the end-to-end technical & service designs, working to agreed BT processes and best practice

  Work collaboratively across BT lines of business and with external suppliers and partners to create innovative solutions

  Ensure solutions are aligned with the overall deal strategy and with the business outcomes that BT & the client are trying to achieve

  Ensure that requirements are clearly understood & documented and – where not – develop & document assumptions and decisions accordingly

  Ensure that solutions for which you are accountable have been through the relevant governance, compliance & assurance processes (with functional approvals where necessary)

  Ensure that the solution costs accurately reflect the approved solution design and that such costs have been optimised wherever possible using standard BT processes (e.g., Access Optimisation, benchmarking with Procurement

  Work proactively to ensure that the solutions for which you are responsible are, where possible, based predominately on standard portfolio elements & reusable propositions

  Leverage design patterns & reference architectures as appropriate for all solutioning activity

  Ensure that solutions comply with governance, compliance and assurance processes and ensure that any necessary functional approvals for the solution are received in accordance with the relevant governance processes

  Demonstrate an ability to conduct conversations covering technical, service, and commercial topics with key client contacts

  Be able to comfortably interact with CTxO-level contacts within the client organisation, partners, suppliers and internally with BT’s service lines.

  Develop & demonstrate a strong knowledge of individual customers’ business challenges and the market in which they operate

  Be recognised as a subject matter expert on the BT Business portfolio and the product roadmap / strategy

  Support and drive internal transformation projects.

  Skills and Experience Required:

  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English & German language – Essential

  Experience in the BT Business solutioning practice; the artefacts, tools and processes engaged, and skills required for success.

  Experience & background in Technical / Network / Service solutions

  Outstanding communications and presentations skills (customer facing)

  In depth understanding of the key features and functions of the products and services provided by BT Business Product and Service as a business.

  Strong senior to mid-level stakeholder management.

  Understanding of financial management in terms of budget management and forecasting

  Capable to understand and manage highly complex technical, programmatic, and commercial solution challenges, and to deliver outcomes to demanding time scales.

  Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

  Works with minimum supervision, seeking assistance where appropriate.

  Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience of working on MS Suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power Platform)

  Experience you would be expected to have:

  Building complex solutions including technical, ITSM, programme and commercial elements – Mandatory

  Experienced in driving systematic performance improvement plans for complex processes – Mandatory

  Experienced with BT Business Portfolio - Mandatory

  C-suite and mid-level stakeholder management

  Knowledge of BT Business key transformation programmes and strategic IT digital tooling and systems initiatives

  Good all-round proactive professional attitude in dealing with internal stakeholders, meetings & calls.
