  Collins Aerospace are looking for a Software Engineer to join their friendly team as we rapidly expand our customer base. You will work as part of an established software development team using your skills and experience in software development to deliver features from our roadmap and supporting customer enhancements.

  First and foremost, we want someone with the right attributes to join our team. You’ll be confident, communicative, technically proficient and motivated to learn and develop your own skills.

  Role Overview:

  The Software Engineer in our team will work as part of the software development team using their skills and experience in both software development and testing practices to deliver features on one of our key airline messaging systems.

  Role Responsibilities:

  Working within a software development team to develop, test and deploy software

  Supporting other developers to test their features

  Adhering to processes relating to the role and company

  Collaborating with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure tasks are well understood

  Managing your own time to deliver on your commitments to the team.

  Responding to and investigating customer tickets.

  Please Note: This role will require the flexibility (once trained) to be part of a 24 x 7 support rota for which additional remuneration is made.

  Basic Requirements:

  Previous Software Development experience

  Languages Python; Django; C++; Javascript

  Knowledge of relational databases (such as Postgres or Oracle)

  Software Testing experience

  Information Security Techniques

  Version Control Systems (GIT; Subversion)

  Integration Technologies (such as Web Services; JMS; FTP)

  Technology Troubleshooting skills

  ALM Tools such as Jira or AzureDevOps

  Operating Systems; Linux / Windows

  Excellent oral and written communication skills

  Time management skills

  Ability to work as a team

  Must be able to understand how modern web applications are deployed and architected.

  Preferred Requirements:

  Experience in Agile development techniques

  Understanding of Network Infrastructure

  AWS Cloud Infrastructure& Services ECS

  Aviation background
