The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a Software Engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of interactive experiences on our platform. This team is working on Apple Immersive Video, a remarkable new entertainment format pioneered by Apple that puts users inside the action with 180-degree, three-dimensional 8K recordings captured with Spatial Audio. As a member of our creative organization, you will have the uniquely rewarding opportunity to craft future products that will delight and inspire millions of people every single day.

　　Key Qualifications

　　At least 8 years of relevant industry experience with the following:

　　Programming skills and knowledge of C/C++, Objective-C and/or Swift

　　Understanding of media streaming technologies such as HLS and DASH

　　Knowledge of video codecs such as MPEGs AVC, HEVC VCC or AV1

　　Excellent communication and collaboration skills

You will have the opportunity to work in a team developing system level frameworks enabling these experiences, in close collaboration with creative teams across Apple and VPG. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. - Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need a deep understanding of how video codecs and pipelines deliver frames to playback and rendering systems. You must want to inovate and create new delivery and rendering techniques for Apple Immersive Video that will enable creatives to surprise and delight our users.Education & Experience

　　BS/MS in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experienceAdditional Requirements

　　iOS CPU/GPU architectureExperience writing optimized code using e.g. profiling tools, assembly, SIMD, compute, etcExperience in at least one of the major graphics APIs (Metal, OpenGL, DirectX, Consoles, etc)Familiarity with macOS and UnixPay & Benefits

　　At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $161,700.00 and $284,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
