　　Caterpillar Inc. seeks Software Engineer at its facility located at 875 W Cushing Street, Tucson, AZ, 85745. As a Software Engineer, will work with a cross-functional team to define software requirements to support Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), New Product Introduction (NPI), and aftermarket demand. Will write structured and well-documented requirements. Will develop a test plan for software and test/validate software on the bench and on the machine. Will support cross-functional teams on Logic Controller (PLC) / Human Machine Interface (HMI) related topics. Will plan and manage deliverables to ensure project timelines are met. Will guide and collaborate with other programmers and be responsible for end-to-end of Electric Rope Shovel software from implementation to releasing. Will serve as the technical expert in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Human Machine Interface (HMI)/technology software. Multiple openings. REQS: This position requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field and 3 years of experience serving in a Software / Controls Engineering role. Position also requires 3 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently): (1) Performing PLC/HMI development and design; (2) Software troubleshooting; (3) Direct working experience with electrical component work (S7 PLC hardware) and writing structured and well-documented requirements; and (4) Electric Rope shovel software experience and experience with PLC programming technologies (including specifically Siemens Step7 Simatic Manager). In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field and 5 years of experience serving in a Software / Controls Engineering role. Position also requires 3 years of experience (which may have been gained concurrently): (1) Performing PLC/HMI development and design; (2) Software troubleshooting; (3) Direct working experience with electrical component work (S7 PLC hardware) and writing structured and well-documented requirements; and (4) Electric Rope shovel software experience and experience with PLC programming technologies (including specifically Siemens Step7 Simatic Manager).
