PowerScale Supportability and Control Path Engineering

PowerScale, a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in Unstructured Data Storage and Management is evolving to cater to the unique demands of the consumer market in the GenAI era. The evolution is driven by efforts to modernize the stack through the development of advanced technologies in data storage systems, cluster management, distributed systems and container management. The modernization initiative will empower PowerScale to provide a composable, disaggregated, software-defined architecture with the capacity to store exabytes of data and deliver unparalleled performance. Building cutting-edge Supportability and Control Path solutions is a critical part of this modernization journey.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Supportability and Control Path Engineering team.

Applicants should be competent in making impactful and quick contributions in the system software space in a Linux/FreeBSD development environment on the complex Enterprise Storage Product that is PowerScale. Applicant should be fearless in frequently transitioning between programming (C/C++) and scripting (Python) languages. Applicants also need to have an interest and passion to mentor other team members to develop a culture of technical excellence and high quality execution.

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Engineer in the Supportability and Control Path Team , you will have the opportunity to use your expertise to work on implementing modern Supportability solutions for the PowerScale product. Frameworks for Telemetry, Eventing, Statistics, Health Checks and Auto Healing, and API infrastructure are all part of this team's charter. You will constantly be challenged in developing and improving new and current technologies with the support of your team behind you as we re-architecture PowerScale's OneFS software to deliver value for our customers in this evolving GenAI era.

You will:

Design, develop and deliver system software solutions and be part of company wide initiatives for Supportability problems in the domain of Enterprise Storage Software with Distributed Systems.

Develop features for OneFS to enhance the Supportability of PowerScale so that we minimize the overall effort required by the company to address customer reported issues.

Collaborate within and outside of your scrum team during the entire software development cycle to ensure we leverage common components, build optimized solutions with highest quality

Essential Requirements

0-2 years with M.Tech 2-5 years with a B.Tech/B.Ealong with experience developing production quality code for products or services

Excellent C/C++ and Python design, coding and debugging skills

Excellent software architecture, design, implementation, test, debugging and problem solving skills

Excellent understanding of Linux OS concepts and subsystems like processes/threads, memory, and contention

Adept at working in an Agile/Scrum model

Desirable Requirements

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

API Development Concepts and familiarity with REST and HTTP protocols.

An interest in AI and passion to bring AI into the product
