Description
Entropy Management Technologies is hiring Software Development Engineers (SDEs) to work on Amazon's next generation of inventory management systems.
Amazon manages the flow of billions of items of inventory, as the inventory moves through our fulfillment network, eventually reaching the customer's door.
We leverage any technology at our disposal to do this accurately, fast, and at the lowest possible cost. We operate at a nexus of machine learning, computer vision, robotics, operations research, and user experience, to provide Amazon's fulfillment network with cutting-edge software to solve large-scale operational problems related to inventory management.
Expectations of the role:
You will create simple solutions for complex business and operational problems.
You will work closely with business, physical processes and operations to optimize systems and processes.
You will design and implement scalable solutions and solve complex problems
You will learn how to build robust solutions that operate at Amazon scale.
You will have the opportunity to design systems, own mission critical tradeoffs such as, how we design production systems, what technology to use and how to solve problems.
You will operate in a set of small, interconnected teams of engineers, to build solutions that impact Amazon's customers around the world.
You will get opportunity to work with senior technical stakeholders to review and improve your designs and solutions.
Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will...
Design, develop, and test software components and applications for one of the largest logistics network in the world
Collaborate with stakeholders to imagine, design, develop, test, and launch software that impacts our customers and inspires your peers
Be proficient in a broad range of data structures and algorithms, knowing when it is (and isn’t) appropriate to use them
Independently clarify technical requirements, assessing development estimates and apply a broad range of design approaches
Review code of other team members and provide constructive direction
Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding

About the team
Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network. We invent and deliver software, hardware, and data science solutions that orchestrate processes, robots, machines, and people. We harmonize the physical and virtual world so Amazon customers can get what they want, when they want it.
Quality:
AFT’s Quality team drives automation programs that leverage computer vision, machine learning, and other innovative technologies to prevent, detect, and correct potential inventory issues impacting fulfillment efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
