　　The Customer Traffic Data group is seeking for a Software Development Engineer passionate about big data technologies, data visualization and machine learning with strong analytical and problem solving skills. We combine these areas to accomplish the mission to deliver traffic analytics solutions for Amazon’s customer-facing websites and applications. The output of your work will influence day-to-day decision making at Amazon.com.

　　Key job responsibilities

　　As a Software Development Engineer inside Customer Traffic Data group, you’ll be responsible for implementing analytics tools and scalable distributed systems to automatically process and analyze billions of hits per day using parallel algorithms on top of Amazon Web Services’ cloud-computing infrastructure. You will participate in full development cycle from design and implementation to documentation and maintenance. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and be passionate about developing reliable, efficient, and maintainable data analysis solutions.

　　About the team

　　The Customer Traffic Data (CTD) group collects, cleans, standardizes, and produces the foundational traffic data for all Amazon shopping experiences. Data is our primary product and our datasets serve internal teams for two use cases: 1) automated decision making (e.g. content ranking, attribution, targeting, etc.) and 2) Insights and reporting through both our suite of analytics tools, as well as custom business reporting.

　　Basic Qualifications

　　Experience programming with at least one software programming language

　　Ability to communicate in written and spoken English

　　Preferred Qualifications

　　3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

　　Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
