About Software Development Engineer, Compliance Shared Services - CLAS Tech

  Description

  Compliance Shared Services is looking for a Software Development Engineer to build software systems that provide a safe shopping experience for Amazon customers, validate regulatory compliance across our supply chain, and make achieving compliance simpler for selling partners.

  We research, innovate, advance the state-of-the-art, and build ML systems to proactively identify safety and compliance risks in Amazon’s retail business. We leverage computer vision and NLP to enable the analysis, validation and data extraction from aggregated volumes of tens of millions of documents and images (such as safety datasheets, declarations of conformity, product labels), and billions of customer reviews associated with products in Amazon catalog across all marketplaces. We envision and build best in class compliance and safety software systems and tools that enable us to meet our objectives and scale cost effectively, as we continue to expand into newer and complex businesses and grow our selection.

  Key job responsibilities

  Actively involved into the design, development, testing strategy, documentation, and rollout of large-scale software products;

  Build and drive adoption for solutions at Amazon scale;

  Translate functional requirements into robust, scalable, maintainable solutions that work well within the overall system architecture and lead the technical strategy of the team;

  Evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products and tools;

  We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

  Bucharest, ROU | Iasi, ROU

  Basic Qualifications

  3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  Preferred Qualifications

  3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
