About Software Development Engineer, Ads Security

  Description

We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our Ads Security team, specifically focusing on the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This is a unique opportunity to be part of a critical program, ensuring that Ads teams can effortlessly develop products that are secure by default. As a key player in the early stages of this initiative, you will drive the development of tools and processes that enhance security throughout the software development lifecycle, leading to improved operational security outcomes at a reduced cost and increased velocity.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing and operations. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven, and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment. They need to enjoy working closely with their peers in a collaborative setting. The ideal candidate will work with high levels of ambiguity, and will help find and resolve problems before we are aware that they will be problems. Amazon teams work with a lot of autonomy, which makes it our challenge to develop solutions to keep them developing securely and with the flexibility that enables them to innovate faster.

If you are excited about the challenges and opportunities described here and you have the background, education, and experience to excel in these areas, we’d love to talk with you further about our company, the team, and how you are uniquely qualified to join us!

  Key job responsibilities

Amazon’s Ads Security team is growing and looking for a highly motivated software development engineer to join our team and drive compliance for our businesses through automation. You will partner with industry-leading security professionals across the company, to ensure that our products have required security controls implemented and they are meeting the security compliance requirements.

  A day in the life

Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions to integrate security seamlessly into the Ads product development lifecycle.

Embrace an iterative, continuous improvement approach to release and deploy features that enhance security and streamline development.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, engaging in design discussions, code reviews, testing, and addressing customer issues.

Develop and adopt testing frameworks to ensure code quality and facilitate continuous delivery.

Create reusable code patterns, including APIs, libraries, and SDKs, to promote a secure development environment.

Conduct design reviews to ensure alignment with tactical software development efforts.

Mentor fellow engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
