Role: Software Engineer

　　Location: Glasgow Scotland Hybrid WFH and onsite. Will also consider fully remote in UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden or Poland. If remote, must be willing to travel to Glasgow once per month.

　　Your Impact

　　The Software Engineer will be designing high-quality software solutions to enable digital customer services based on established design standards. You can expect to be the owner and take accountability for the quality of your code. You will become familiar with the markets we operate in and problems our products and services address. You will learn about the challenges and limitations of the existing systems and demonstrate your creativity and problem-solving aptitudes as you contribute to technology and system platforms.

　　Responsibilities include reviewing commercial and technical requirements, analyzing systems architecture, and developing code in a variety of programming languages for an enterprise product suite which runs on multiple media platforms.

　　Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your competencies:

　　Work in a Lean, Agile environment using fully integrated Agile governance tools.

　　Collaborate with System architects, Development engineers, Product Managers and Sales team members to develop technical requirements for software applications and middleware used to deliver services to global electric grid customers.

　　Drive code development with a team of system architects to create high value solutions which delight customers consistent with the Qualitrol brand.

　　Create code that meets Qualitrol coding standards, commercial specifications, and is easy to maintain.

　　Automate SW testing at all levels, from unit to system integration, to ensure that our systems work per defined use cases.

　　Ensure that all code is documented and reviewed.

　　Use the latest technologies to reduce implementation time and enhance software portability and reusability as a component of a systems platform.

　　Skills & Experience

　　The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

　　Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field

　　3+ years of professional product development experience

　　Clear understanding of software development practices and lifecycles.

　　Strong experience with Object-Oriented concepts.

　　Have expertise in the following: C++, C#, SQL, Java, HTML, CSS, Multithreading

　　Have experience with generic messaging, .NET Framework 3.5 and the latest MS Visual Studio tools

　　Knowledge of service-oriented architectures including microservices architecture

　　Preferred skills/experience:

　　Experience with industry best practices

　　Agile development methodologies

　　Experience in building scalable enterprise solutions
