An engineer at any level can have a significant technical and business impact. In our area, we specialize on everything related to distributed database systems and cloud services. We are looking for people who have experience or are deeply interested in databases, distributed systems and cloud services. There is always something new to do at our team, whether it's enhancing our existing products or building a completely new one from scratch.

As a member of the Cloud Services Development teams, you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. Our team is the centralized database store for Oracle Public Cloud.

Here are some recommended skills that will help you succeed at your job:

3+ years of experience (ideally 5+ years) delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems and/or cloud services

Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems and cloud services fundamentals

Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures

Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies especially in cloud

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
