  The Position

  Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

  Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

  This recruitment is for a Social Services Program Specialist II with the Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS), Child Support Enforcement Program (CSEP), in Carson City, NV. This position is responsible for a range of duties including the design and development of multiple portions of the statewide Child Support Program as well as working on the NVKIDS computer system; developing program policies and procedures; providing training, consultation, and technical assistance to program personnel in State and County Program offices; initiating system change requests and testing system changes; responding to requests for information from a variety of sources such as attorneys, government agencies, public officials, and the media; resolving program problems and complaints from jurisdictions within and outside of Nevada; overseeing contracts; and acquiring data and preparing reports.   To Qualify:

  In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

  Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

  Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing social services to clients or program development and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of study pertinent to the program assignment and one year of professional experience providing medical assistance programs services or healthcare services to clients or program compliance and evaluation which required the application of regulations, laws, policies and procedures in making determinations; OR one year of experience as a Social Services Program Specialist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
