This Platform Security Architect role will report to the Cyber Security Office's Security Architecture Lead. Playing a crucial role in designing and implementing comprehensive security solutions that protect GSK's digital assets and infrastructure. This role involves strategic planning, design, and oversight of security platforms to ensure they are robust, scalable, and aligned with the organization's overall security objectives. The Security Platform Architect is responsible for the architectural design, implementation, and integration of security platforms and technologies within GSK. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices to protect against evolving cyber threats.
In this role you willThis is an individual contributor role with a focus on strategic design and innovationDevelop and maintain the overall security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with GSK's business goals and IT strategyDevelop and maintain the overall security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with GSK's business goals and IT strategyEvaluate and select security technologies and platforms to address current and future security needsLead the deployment and integration of security platforms, including email, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and endpoint protection, detection and response solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and technologies effectivelyEnsure seamless integration of security platforms with existing IT infrastructure and applicationsStay abreast of emerging security technologies, trends, and threat landscapes to inform strategic decisionsDrive innovation in security architecture by exploring and adopting new technologies and methodologiesContinuously evaluate and refine security platforms to enhance their effectiveness and efficiencyDevelop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practicesEstablish metrics to measure the effectiveness and performance of security platformsRegularly report on security platform status, risks, and incidents to senior leadershipUse data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and improvementsCommunicate complex security concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring understanding and buy-inWork closely with IT, DevOps, and other business units to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of GSK's operations
Why you?Qualifications Skills:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:Advanced degree in Computer ScienceSignificant amount of cyber security engineering experienceAny of the following: CISSP, Azure, GCP, CISM, SABSA or TOGAF certificationsStrong expertise in Security Platforms and engineeringExperience developing security strategies and/or reference architecturesExtensive experience in cybersecurity architecture, design, and implementationExperience designing and deploying network security controls, and security solutionsExtensive knowledge of security technology including, but not limited to, encryption, authentication and authorization, security protocols, data and privacy security, AI/ML and application developmentFamiliarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR)In-depth and hands-on knowledge of security technologies, including email, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR
Preferred Qualifications Skills:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:Experience in global manufacturing, pharma, and/or a life sciences companyStrong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to engage with technical nd non-technical stakeholdersAbility to write, develop, and maintain technical documentation, including security standards, security strategies, and implementation plansAbility to prioritise input and filter actions that have significant impact on the programAbility to work with multiple stakeholders to promote thoughtful, practical solutions to tough security problemsExcellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills and ability to work under pressure
