Sets up oxygen and CPAP equipment following the physician's prescription. Schedules and ensures the download of machines to monitor patient progress and compliance. Ensures that all insurance requirements/pre-authorization are met before delivery and completes all required documentation for coverage.Batches all paperwork daily for submission to the billing team.Oversees the general daily operation of the Respiratory area including stocking of supplies.  Answer phones and take payments.

Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment. Remains aware of hazards/contraindications and assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery.

Documents all pertinent data on the patient's medical record following completion of any service and communications. Notifies appropriate personnel if a particular service or response, within the scope of their responsibilities, is required.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of all departmental forms, flow charts, logbooks, and their proper usage.

Performs all additional duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the differences in techniques and treatment modalities as performed on patients of varying ages, including neonate, adolescent,t, and geriatric patients, as well as the general patient population.

Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure that it is functioning safely and efficiently.

Formulates a teaching plan based on the identified learning needs of a patient and evaluates the effectiveness of learning, the patient's family is included in teaching as appropriate.

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patient's needs are met and that DME/Hospital policy is followed.

Demonstrates ability to assess patient, his/her need, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to treatment.

Attends education in-service programs to maintain professional competency. Obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training.

Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services and all applicable governmental regulations.

Store Clerk backup.

Serves as a resource for technical questions, applications, and problem-solving regarding respiratory equipment and other systems as needed.

Ensures that client records are complete. Including documentation/completion of all notes, referrals, e-mails, and returning of phone calls.

Ability to assess the client, his/her need, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to the treatment provided.

Sets up equipment by the physician's prescription.

Maintains a thorough knowledge of sleep-related breathing disorders and is a resource to the team and patients to promote education and improve overall quality of life.

Schedules and ensures the download of machines to monitor patient progress. Under the direction of the respiratory therapist and ultimately the physician, adjusts the patient's pressures to increase compliance with treatment.

Work as an interdisciplinary team member with the patient and physician to ensure timely compliance and follow-up.

Exhibits an optimistic attitude. Discourages negativity in the department.

Ass sts customers by compiling and reviewing DME requisitions for purchase or rental. Ensures that all insurance requirements/pre-authorization are met before delivery and completes all required documentation for coverage.

Oversees the general daily operation of the Respiratory area, including planning and costing of inventory, reassembling and testing equipment to ensure proper function for next usage, and knowing the proper method for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing all equipment used to provide respiratory care services.

Reviews work schedules and assists in personal management as deemed necessary.

Batches all paperwork daily for submission to the billing team.

Processes accounts and maintains appropriate records promptly.

Participates as an on-call team member as needed
