Plan, implement and supervise Project Safety Program
TYPICAL DUTIES
Ensure Customer Site Safety Performance Expectations are metConduct Supervisory Safety Meetings and TrainingConduct Employee Safety OrientationsProvide guidance to Supervisors for conducting Safety training of their personnelConduct regular walk through inspections of construction areasIdentify hazardous/potential hazardous conditions; insure corrective action is takenInvestigate personal injury and property damage accidentsPrepare and maintain safety documentation as required by the Company, Customer or applicable LawImplement Hazard Communication Program & oversee industrial hygiene activitiesIssue various work permits (i.e. to confined space) as requiredServe as the primary contact for all Regulatory inspections or visitsEnsure medical preparedness, assistance and supplies are readily availablePerform additional duties as assigned by VP - Safety and Area Safety Manager
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
BS Degree in Safety Engineering or Related Discipline3+ years of experience in a equivalent positionInitiative and a Diversity mindsetCustomer and Quality focusAbility to recognize hazards, drive continuous improvement and take immediate corrective actionStrong organizational, communication (written and oral) and negotiation/influence skillsTeam oriented and ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilitiesAbility to use Lotus Notes, Word, Excel & PowerpointKnowledge of Construction Safety Compliance
